Endorsement Process

About Candidate Endorsements: The Indo-American Democratic Organization (IADO) endorses candidates and works to elect lawmakers who will support the needs of the South Asian American community, which include but are not limited to immigration reform, hate crime legislation, employment and general advocacy.

Endorsement Process: For candidates running in the 2022 General Election, you may complete one of the following online questionnaires:

General Candidate Questionnaire

Judicial Candidate Questionnaire

All questionnaires need to be completed by midnight September 12, 2022. In the event we conduct candidate interviews, candidates will be interviewed as needed between September 22 – October 7. Endorsements will be made available Wednesday, October 12. IADO will consider candidates for early endorsement on a case by case basis.

Committee Review and Recommendations: Candidate questionnaires are reviewed and scored by IADO’s Endorsement Committee and then recommendations are given to the Board of Directors for a formal discussion and subsequent vote. In some instances the Board may consider a no vote or vote to stay neutral depending on the candidate and circumstance.
